Report: Florida parts ways with coach Dan Mullen

Florida is parting ways with coach Dan Mullen, according to multiple reports.

The Gators are 5-6 this season and have lost five straight games to Power 5 opponents. Florida also gave up 52 points to Samford in Week 11.

The timing of this firing impacts multiple ACC teams. The Gators are set to face Florida State in Week 13 in Gainesville, with the winner advancing to bowl season.

This could also have an impact on Virginia Tech, who is in the process of hiring a head coach. The Hokies parted ways with Justin Fuente last week after 6 seasons.

Coaches like Louisiana’s Billy Napier or Alabama offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien I could be in play for both jobs.

LSU and USC are also in the market for a new head coach, and programs like Miami could be soon as well.

Kickoff of Florida-Florida State is set for 12:00 PM ET.
