Former Florida State quarterback will miss the remainder of the season with the New Orleans Saints due to a torn ACL, per a report.

That’s according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, who adds that he’s also dealing with damage to his MCL.

This injury unfortunately ends what was becoming one of the best years of Winston’s career. He’s thrown for 14 touchdown passes and just 3 interceptions while leading the NFL with a touchdown rate of 8.7 percent.

The Saints were also excelling as a team and have a 5-2 record on the year. They defeated the defending Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

Winston is in his seventh NFL season. The Bucs picked him No. 1 overall in the 2015 NFL Draft following a collegiate career at Florida State that included a National Championship and a Heisman Trophy.

Winston is expected to be a free agent this offseason.
