Florida State holds a 31-0 lead over Boston College at halftime.

The Noles didn’t take long to get on the score board. Trey Benson returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown, giving FSU its first kick return TD in nearly a decade. Benson later rushed for a touchdown as well.

Florida State’s defense then responded with an interception, giving the Noles’ offense excellent field position. Florida State converted a 4th and 9 on the drive and ultimately scored thanks to a run from Lawrance Toafili.

Jordan Travis started the game despite coming off injured a week ago. He completed 15-of-25 passes for 249 yards and 1 touchdown in the first half. He also carried the ball once for 16 yards.

FSU picked off another pass in the second quarter — this one by Greedy Vance — but ultimately turned the ball over on downs. The Noles limited Boston College to only 63 yards of offense in the first half.

Florida State did not punt in the first half. It scored on its first 3 drives of the game and then had 2 turnover downs. The half ended with a 31-yard touchdown pass to Kentron Poitier with less than a minute to go.
