One of Florida State’s top targets in the transfer portal will be visiting Tallahassee this weekend.

UTEP transfer offensive tackle Jeremiah Byers announced he will be at FSU from Dec. 9-11 on a recruiting visit. He’s being recruited by Mike Norvell and offensive coordinator Alex Atkins.

Here’s his announcement:

Byers is one of the top offensive line transfers in the portal. He’s been UTEP’s starting right tackle for the past two seasons, so he would arrive in Tallahassee with plenty of experience. He was named first-team All-Conference USA earlier this week.

He could potentially slot in as an immediate starter for the Seminoles next season. FSU battled injuries at both offensive tackle spots this season.

Florida State brought in one of the best transfer portal classes in the country for 2022, and it seems the Noles are planning to be aggressive again for 2023. They already have one transfer commitment in this class — from Miami defensive lineman Darrell Jackson.

Florida State will face Oklahoma in the Cheez-It Bowl later this month.
