One of Florida State’s top targets in the transfer portal will be on campus this weekend.

UCF transfer cornerback Davonte Brown announced he will be in Tallahassee from Dec. 9-11 on a recruiting visit.

Here’s that announcement:

Brown is one of at least two transfers who will be at FSU this weekend. UTEP offensive lineman Jeremiah Byers has also announced a visit to Tallahassee for this week.

Brown is a major target in the portal for the Noles. In 13 games at UCF this season, Brown recorded 30 tackles, 2 interceptions, 4 pass deflections and 1 forced fumble.

If Florida State does land Brown, he would be the second UCF player to join FSU in the last two seasons. Linebacker Tatum Bethune left UCF last offseason to join the Noles. He became Florida State’s starting middle linebacker in 2022 and finished second on the team in total tackles.

Florida State has already picked up one transfer commitment in this cycle from Miami defensive lineman Darrell Jackson.

FSU will face Oklahoma in the Cheez-It Bowl later this month.
