Georgia Tech adds special teams coordinator with ACC familiarity, per report
Georgia Tech reportedly has its special teams coordinator. Ricky Brumfield is joining Brent Key’s staff, per Kelly Quinlan of Rivals.
Brumfield joins the Yellow Jackets after a season at FIU.
Now that the details are ironed out #GaTech has added special teams coordinator Ricky Blumfield who spent last season at FIU after being a key part of Bronco’s staff at UVA. Strong special teams and good recruiting are his hallmark as an assistant. https://t.co/Lb3qtlVBPK

Brumfield is familiar with the ACC as a former Virginia assistant on Bronco Mendenhall’s coaching staff. He was with UVA from 2018-to-2021 also coaching tight ends (2018) and cornerbacks (2019-21) while holding special teams coordinator responsibilities.
At FIU, Brumfield was the squad’s special teams coordinator, assistant head coach and outside linebackers coach for the 2022 season. Last week, Georgia Tech special teams coordinator and safeties/nickels coach Jason Semore left to become Marshall’s new defensive coordinator.
