Georgia Tech DB enters NCAA transfer portal, per report

Kenny Bennett appears to be on the move again.

After a season at Georgia Tech, the former Maryland defensive back is back in the NCAA transfer portal, per On3’s Matt Zenitz.

Bennett appears to have received extra eligibility from the NCAA having already played 6 seasons, including a redshirt and the COVID-19 waiver for 2020. His career began at Maryland in 2017.

Bennett played in 2 games of Maryland’s 2017 season before taking a redshirt. After redshirting, he was with the Terrapins for 4 more seasons before transferring to Georgia Tech.

Bennett’s Georgia Tech bio does not detail his season in Atlanta. Sportradar shows Bennett participated in 6 games this past season for the Yellow Jackets.

The NCAA transfer portal is currently closed for undergraduate entry, though graduate transfers are allowed to enter the portal outside the NCAA’s designated windows.
