Georgia Tech football cancels game vs. Austin Peay, announces new 2024 opponent

Georgia Tech cancelled its game vs. Austin Peay Tuesday, replacing the Govs with a new opponent for the 2nd game of their 2024 schedule.

VMI will take Austin Peay’s place. The game is currently slated for Sept. 14, 2024 in Atlanta.

This move adds VMI to a list of non-conference games that include Georgia State, Notre D

ame and Georgia, not to mention an already tough ACC schedule.  The Keydets play at the FCS Division I level and finished last season 1-10.

The Yellowjackets finished last season 5-7, narrowly missing out on a bowl appearance.
