Georgia Tech lands commitment from 4-star PF, late addition to 2023 recruiting class

Georgia Tech is moving on under new head coach Damon Stoudamire, and he has done quick work in trying to overhaul the roster for the Yellow Jackets.

On Friday, Stoudamire landed his first commitment from the high school ranks as head coach at Georgia Tech. The pledge comes from Baye Ndongo, a 4-star power forward originally committed to Rutgers.

Ndongo held a number of high-major offers but decommitted from Rutgers late in April, around the same time Stoudamire and the Yellow Jackets offered.

According to the 247 Sports Composite, Ndongo is the 120th overall player in the country and a 4-star prospect for the class of 2023. He’s rated as the No. 27 PF for the cycle.

Listed at 6-foot-8 and 220 pounds out of Putnam (CT) Science Academy, Ndongo is the first high school prospect for Stoudamire’s tenure at Tech. However, Stoudamire hit the transfer portal in a big way this offseason, drawing commitments from 6 players with collegiate experience.
