Georgia Tech legend Demaryius Thomas dies suddenly at 33

Former Georgia Tech star Demaryius Thomas tragically passed away on Thursday at 33 years old.

According to reports, Thomas’ family believes he suffered a seizure while taking a shower on Thursday. He had been dealing with seizures as a result of a 2019 car accident.

Thomas was a first round pick out of Georgia Tech in the 2010 NFL Draft — an almost unbelievable accomplishment for a receiver playing in a triple option offense.

He went on to play in the NFL for a decade, mostly with the Denver Broncos. He compiled five 1,000-yard seasons and scored 63 touchdowns. He was a member of Denver’s Super Bowl 50-winning team as well.

Perhaps Thomas’ most famous moment came in a playoff game vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers. He caught a pass over the middle from Tim Tebow on the first play of overtime and took it to the end zone.

Thomas was 33 years old.
