Georgia Tech reportedly parts ways with Geoff Collins and athletic director Todd Stansbury

Georgia Tech has parted ways with head coach Geoff Collins and athletic director Todd Stansbury, per The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Ken Sugiura.

This move came after Georgia Tech suffered a 27-10 loss to UCF in Week 4. Georgia Tech quarterback Jeff Sims threw for 314 yards and 1 t

ouchdown. Despite a solid outing from Sims, it was not enough to make it a competitive game.

After 4 games in 2022, Collins posted a 1-3 record. The team’s lone win this season happened against Western Carolina. Georgia Tech suffered double-digit losses to Clemson, Mississippi, and UCF. Georgia Tech scored a total of 10 points in the last 2 weeks. In Week 3, Georgia Tech was shut out by Mississippi at home, 42-0.

Since Collins took over the program in 2019, Georgia Tech did not win more than 3 games in a single season. His coaching record with the Yellow Jackets w

as 10-28 in less than 4 seasons.

Before Collins came to Georgia Tech, he had a successful run as Temple’s head coach. In 2 seasons at Temple, Collins went 15-10. In his final season at Temple, the Owls finished the 2018 season with an 8-4 record. Georgia Tech hired Collins in December 2018.

With Collins and Stansbury out at Georgia Tech, the school will be in search of a new athletic director and head coach. There will be important decisions to make throughout the season.

Georgia Tech will be on the road against Pittsburgh on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.
