Lance Terry nets buzzer-beating tip-in as Georgia Tech snaps ACC skid vs. Notre Dame

Lance Terry came up big for Georgia Tech Wednesday night. With the Yellow Jackets looking to snap an extensive skid in ACC play, Terry dialed up a game-winning play at the buzzer.

With the two teams tied at 68 apiece and 5 seconds left to go, Georgia Tech ran an inbounds play to Kyle Sturdivant. His shot was off target, but Terry came flying in.

His tip-in off the rebound was off just ahead of the buzzer, beating the Irish and sending Georgia Tech to the 70-68 victory.

Terry wound up leading all scorers with 19 points. Javon Franklin chipped in 16 points, 9

rebounds and 3 assists for the Yellow Jackets.

The win is a big one for the Yellow Jackets in what has been a rough year for Josh Pastner’s squad. Georgia Tech last won on Jan. 4, and the team was 1-12 in ACC play entering Wednesday night.

With postseason play well out of the picture, Wednesday’s game provides a nice feel-good moment for the team after 9 straight losses.
