Marshall reportedly set to hire Georgia Tech assistant as defensive coordinator

Marshall is in the mix for a new defensive coordinator and it seems the Thundering Herd will turn to Georgia Tech to find one.

Per a report from Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports on Tuesday, the Herd are attempting to hire Jason Semore away from the Georgia Tech staff.

Semore was Georgia Tech’s nickel-safeties coach and special teams coordinator in 2022 under Geoff Collins and then interim coach Brent Key:

lso spent the 2019 and 2020 seasons at Georgia Tech as a defensive analyst before leaving in 2021 to serve as defensive coordinator for Division II powerhouse Valdosta State.

Now he’s back in the ranks of FBS defensive coordinators. He’ll be tasked with helping Marshall’s defense improve in 2023 and beyond.
