Deion Sanders is reportedly expected to be a candidate for the Georgia Tech job.

That’s according to 247Sports’ Carl Reed, who named Sanders amongst several other “names of interest” for the Yellow Jackets’ vacancy.

Reed added that Georgia Tech is one of multiple schools expected to make an “aggressive pursuit” of the Jackson State head coach.

Sanders is in his 3rd season as Jackson State’s head coach. He’s done a tremendous job with that program, leading the Tigers to an 18-5 overall record so far. They’re 13-2 in SWAC play under Sanders’ leadership.

It would be a splashy hire for Georgia Tech, who have long attempted to use the city of Atlanta to help their recruiting profile. Sanders would immediately become one of the most dynamic coaching personalities at the FBS level.

Sanders is a Florida State alum. If he gets the Georgia Tech job, he would lead the Yellow Jackets program against his alma mater in 2024 and in 2026. The 2026 game is scheduled to be played at Doak Campbell Stadium.
