Fire Chris Mack? Louisville fans are fuming after loss to Western Kentucky

Louisville fans are angry with coach Chris Mack after the Cardinals suffered an upset loss to Western Kentucky on Saturday afternoon. It was Louisville’s first loss to the Hilltoppers since 2008.

WKU controlled the game from start to finish, never trailing in its 82-72 win over Louisville.

Louisville is now 7-4 on the season and is outside the top 50 according to KenPom’s live rankings

. This is Mack’s fourth season at the helm.

The Cardinals made the NCAA Tournament in his first year back in 2018-19, but lost as a 7-seed in the first round. They were on track to make the tournament in 2020 before it was canceled due to COVID-19.

Last season, Louisville endured a tough COVID-19-shortened season and finished with a 13-7 record. Starting off this year at 7-4 with losses to WKU, Furman and DePaul doesn’t inspire much confidence for making a postseason run 2022.

With that in mind, here’s some of the reaction from Louisville fans following the loss to the Hilltoppers:
