Louisville adds commitment from former Auburn, Kentucky QB/WR

Louisville dipped into the transfer portal Monday and added former Auburn, Kentucky and UCF QB/WR Joey Gatewood. Now, he’s heading back to the state of Kentucky.

Gatewood entered the transfer portal 5 months ago out of UCF. He originally started his career at Auburn as a highly-rated QB prospect. He was buried on the depth chart and transferred to Kentucky for 1 season before ending up at UCF.

This is where Gatewood transitioned to wide receiver. A 6-5, 220 pounds, expect Louisville to either retain his abilities as a receiver, or maybe even a switch to tight end.

Gatewood is the 6th wide receiver to transfer into the Louisville program under new head coach Jeff Brohm, joining former Tennessee WR Jimmy Calloway, former Brown WR Allan Houston III and former Georgia State WR Jamari Thrash, to name a few.
