Louisville picked up a major addition to its 2022 recruiting class on Thursday afternoon.

The Cardinals earned a commitment from 4-star DL Selah Brown. He announced his decision in Instagram Live.

Brown is a hometown pickup. He attends Louisville Male High School and is listed at 6-foot-2, 251 pounds.

He’s now the top-ranked commitment in Louisville’s 2022 recruiting class. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, he’s the No. 327 overall player and the No. 43 defensive end in this cycle.

The Cardinals will still need to make more additions in order to have a successful recruiting class. Brown is just the seventh prospect to verbally commit, and the class ranks No. 86 nationally per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Brown is one of just two 4-star prospects currently committed to Louisville. He joins 4-star EDGE Popeye Williams in that regard. He’s also the first player from the state of Kentucky to join the class.

Brown and other 2022 prospects will be able to officially sign with schools during the Early Signing Period in December.
