Louisville landed one of the nation’s top quarterbacks in the 2023 recruiting class on Friday afternoon.

4-star quarterback Pierce Clarkson announced his commitment on Louisville on Twitter:

Clarkson is the No. 10 quarterback in the country for the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Simply put, this is a massive addition for the Cardinals on multiple levels. He’s the No. 6-ranked commitment all-time in program history, according to 247Sports.

Clarkson also attends St. John Bosco High School in southern California, which is one of the nation’s top high school programs. If Louisville can create a pipeline to that program, it could be huge for future recruiting classes.

This is also a signal that Louisville’ recruiting may be in for a major improvement in the 2023 class. The Cardinals’ 2022 class ranks No. 10 in the ACC, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Clarkson is Louisville’s second commitment in the class of 2023, joining 3-star EDGE Adonijah Green.
