Louisville OL enters transfer portal in the midst of fall camp

Louisville offensive lineman Kobe Baynes announced that he entered the transfer portal and will be leaving the school in the middle of fall camp.

Baynes is a freshman and will look for a new college football program to play for. Here is Baynes’ full statement on Twitter:

“Sometimes in a life a change of scenery is just the best option. I have decided to transfer after careful thought and talking with people close to me I have decided that it is best for me,” Baynes said. “I would like to thank Coach Satterfield for recruiting me, and being the main reason that I chose Louisville. He’s an o

utstanding coach and a better person.”

Baynes was slated to be Louisville’s backup right tackle behind Renato Brown for this season. Now that Baynes left the program, Louisville will need to add to the depth chart at right tackle.

He will have 4 years of eligibility remaining at his next program.

Baynes’ departure came less than 3 weeks before the season opener. Louisville will begin the season at Syracuse on Saturday, Sept. 3.
