Louisville released the Week 1 depth chart heading into the first game of the season against Syracuse.

The Cardinals will have a full roster ready for the upcoming season after a long offseason. Some positions on the depth chart stood out more than others.

Here is Louisville’s entire depth chart for Week 1:

As expected, Louisville quarterback Malik Cunningham won the starting job and will make the start against Syracuse. The running back that Cunningham will be handing the ball of to surprised some. Tiyon Evans won the starting running back job and will receive the bulk of the carries.

Evans beat out Jawhar Jordan, Jalen Mitchell, and Trevion Cooley for the position. Jordan will likely receive a good bulk of carries as Evans’ backup. Evans is entering his 1st season at Louisville following 1 season at Tennessee in 2021. In his first season at Louisville, Evans will be the leading back for the Cardinals.

Another position that caught the eye was cornerback. The Cardinals have several spots that remain up for grabs. Louisville listed Chandler Jones or Jarvis Brownlee as one of the starting cornerbacks, while Kei’Trel Clark or Quincy Riley will be the other starting cornerback for Louisville. As the season unfolds, expect a full-time starter to be named.

Louisville opens the season on the road against Syracuse on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
