Louisville is losing a former 4-star recruit to the transfer portal. Kamari Lands has announced he will be continuing his college basketball career elsewhere after a season with the Cardinals.
The news comes via Joe Tipton of On3.
Lands provided a statement to On3:
“I would like to thank my family, friends, and teammates for all the support they have given me throughout my decision. I would also like to thank the Louisville staff and fan base for everything they have done for me and my season here at Louisville. I have nothing but love for you guys. With that being said the staff and I have come to the mutual decision to part ways, and I plan on putting my name in the transfer portal to further my journey.”
Out of Phoenix, Arizona, Lands was rated 4-stars and the No. 69 p
rospect in the 2022 recruiting class on the 247Sports Composite.
In his freshman season, Lands made 32 appearances for Louisville, logging 6 starts. He averaged 5.9 points per game, posting a career-high of 15 against Georgia Tech on Feb. 25.
