Louisville thumped Michigan 62-50 in the Elite Eight on Monday night, punching its ticket to the Final Four.

The Cardinals were led by Hailey Van Lith, who scored 22 points and grabbed 3 rebounds. Van Lith has scored 20+ points in all four of Louisville’s NCAA Tournament wins so far.

Emily Engstler scored 5 points and hauled in a staggering 16 rebounds.

Louisville was stout defensively. The Cardinals allowed Michigan to shoot just 34.8 percent from the field and 21.4 percent from 3-point range. The Wolverines scored 15 of their 50 points from the free throw line.

The Cardinals recorded 15 steals compared to just 6 for Michigan. That allowed Louisville to play much of the game in transition and to speed up the pace.

This is the fourth Final Four appearance for Louisville, all of which have come since 2009. The Cardinals have become a perennial contender in women’s college basketball, but they’re still searching for that elusive National Championship.

Louisville will face No. 1-seeded South Carolina on Friday at 7:00 p.m. ET.
