Louisville has postponed its rivalry game vs. Kentucky due to a COVID-19 outbreak, the program announced on Monday morning.
The game was scheduled for Wednesday. The Cardinals have paused all team activities due to multiple COVID-19 positive results, athletic director Josh Heird announced in a press release
.
The also statement says Louisville and Kentucky officials will “monitor opportunities” for the game to be rescheduled later in the season.
This postponement comes at an interesting time for Louisville. The Cardinals are struggling r
ight now, having lost to Western Kentucky and DePaul in December. Louisville also lost an early-season game to Furman.
Meanwhile, Kentucky is coming off its best win of the season. The Wildcats defeated North Carolina by 29 points last week at a neutral site in Las Vegas.
