Report: Louisville, Chris Mack finalizing ‘separation agreement’

Louisville is reportedly preparing to part ways with head basketball coach Chris Mack.

That’s according to a report from The Athletic’s Seth Davis, who notes that both parties are currently working on a “separation agreement.”

Louisville’s board of trustees will hold a meeting at 4 p.m. on Wednesday to discuss “pending litigation and personnel matters,” according to multiple reports.

Head coach Chris Mack’s coaches show, which normally would have aired on Tuesday night, has also been canceled.

This news comes following back-to-back losses to Virginia and Notre Dame. The Cardinals are 11-9 overall this season and 5-5 in the ACC.

ith the Cardinals. He has an overall record of 68-37 and is just 38-23 in conference play. He took Louisville to the NCAA Tournament in his first season, but it lost in the first round.

The Cardinals were slated to be a top seed in the 2020 NCAA Tournament, but it was canceled due to the emergence of COVID-19. Since the, Louisville is just 13-10 in conference play.

Louisville is scheduled to face Duke on Saturday.
