Louisville quarterback Malik Cunningham did not make the trip to Virginia to take on the Cavaliers on Saturday afternoon.
That’s according to a report from 247Sports’ Jody Demling. T
he report notes that this snaps a streak of 40 consecutive starts for Cunningham with the Cardinals.
Cunningham suffered an “undisclosed injury” in the second half of Louisville’s loss to Boston College last week. Without Cunningham able to play, the Cardinals were shutout in the 4th quarter of a 34-33 loss.
His back, Brock Domann, completed j
ust 1-of-7 passes for 19 yards after entering the game. He is now 6-for-15 for 92 yards in his career.
This is obviously a huge loss for Louisville, who still has hopes of reaching bowl eligibility this season. Louisville is 2-3 on the year heading into this game with a struggling Virginia team.
Kickoff is at 12 p.m. ET.
