Louisville could be without defensive lineman Jermayne Lole for the remainder of the 2022 season, according to a report.

That’s per 247Sports’ Jody Demling, who broke the news shortly before Louisville’s Week 2 contest with UCF on Friday night.

According to Demling’s report, Lole suffered an elbow injury in Louisville’s 31-7 loss to Syracuse in Week 1. He is not dressed out for the Cardinals game against UCF on Friday.

That’s a huge blow to Louisville’s defense, who was counting on Lole to be a key pass rusher this season. Lole transferred from Arizona State this past offseason.

Lole missed the 2021 season at ASU with an injury. From 2018-2020, he recorded 20 tackles for loss and 11 sacks for the Sun Devils.

Louisville is a 6-point underdog against UCF on Friday night. The Cardinals are looking to avoid an 0-2 start to the regular season.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET.
