Skyy Clark, former Illinois guard, announces transfer commitment

Skyy Clark has found his new team. The Illinois transfer, a former top-35 recruit, is transferring to Louisville.

Clark announced his commitment to play for the Cardinals on his Twitter account. The news comes less than a week after he entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Clark is from Nashville and finished his high school career at the Montverde Academy in Florida, but he’s familiar with big-time basketball i

n the Bluegrass State. He committed to Kentucky in 2020 and even signed to play for John Calipari’s Kentucky program in 2021, but had a change of heart in March 2022 and landed at Illinois.

With the Illini, Clark played in 13 games, making 12 starts. He averaged 7 points and 2.1 assists over 24.5 points per game.

Though he only recently officially entered the portal, Clark has been away from the Illini since January. On the 247Sports composite rankings, Clark was the No. 33 overall recruit in the 2022 recruiting class.
