ACC Network analyst Eric Mac Lain ranked his top tight ends in the ACC on Friday, and Miami’s Will Mallory grabbed the top spot.

Last season, Mallory caught 30 passes for 347 yards and 4 touchdowns. It was his third straight season with at least 290 receiving yards and at least 2 touchdowns.

Mallory is expected to be a big part of the passing game again this season. He’s arguably Miami’s top pass catcher on the roster with last year’s leading receiver Charleston Rambo now in the NFL

Here’s the rest of Mac Lain’s top 5:

Louisville’s Marshon Ford gets the No. 2 spot after catching 49 passes for 550 yards and 2 scores last season. He’s a top target for Malik Cunningham and that should continue again in 2022.

Pittsburgh’s Gavin Batholomew is coming off an impressive freshman season. He caught 28 passes for 326 yards and 4 touchdowns. That volume could go down if Pitt throws the ball less than in 2022, but it’s still a very impressive starting point.

Clemson gets 2 tight ends on the list in Davis Allen and Jake Briningstool. Allen has back-to-back seasons with 200+ yards and 3+ touchdowns. Briningstool saw limited playing time as a freshman last season, but caught 3 passes for 67 yards and 1 touchdown.
