Miami might have picked up its quarterback of the future on Sunday afternoon.

The Canes have earned a commitment from 4-star quarterback Jaden Rashada. He chose Miami over Florida, Texas A&M, LSU and Ole Miss.

He made his announcement on CBS Sports HQ.

Rashada’s decision comes shortly after a visit to Coral Gables. He actually postponed his original commitment date by 1 week so he could fit in a visit to Miami.

The California native is one of the top quarterbacks in the country for the class of 2023. He’s the No. 45 overall prospect and the No. 7 QB in the class, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Rashada is now Miami’s top-ranked commitment in the class of 2023. The Hurricanes have 8 commitments now and are up to No. 33 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

It’s worth noting that Rashada is Miami’s second quarterback commitment this month. The Canes also picked up 3-star QB Emory Williams back on June 20. It’s unclear whether his future will be impacted by Rashada’s decision here.

Rashada will be featured in the Elite 11 Finals later this summer.
