Miami coach Mario Cristobal has reportedly agreed to a groundbreaking contract at Miami.

According to The Athletic’s Manny Navarro, Cristobal signed an $80 million contract that extends over the next 10 years. This deal will make him one of the highest-paid coaches in all of college football.

The deal also provides for the biggest assistant coach salary pool in the ACC, per the report.

Cristobal officially joined Miami on Monday after a five-year stint at Oregon. He won 10+ games in two seasons with the Ducks and established himself as an elite recruiter.

Miami is hoping that skillset will translate to south Florida, where the Hurricanes have struggled to get their fair share of blue chip prospects in recent years. Miami’s 2022 recruiting class currently ranks outside the top 50 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

This contract represents a renewed commitment from Miami’s athletic department and university to the football program. The Hurricanes are also reportedly targeting Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovich for their AD position.

Miami will face Washington State in the Sun Bowl on Dec. 31.
