ESPN has updated its bowl projections for Miami following Week 3.

Miami is off to a 3-0 start, with its most recent win coming over Bethune-Cookman. The Hurricanes are now halfway to bowl eligibility — a benchmark they failed to meet in 2022.

ESPN’s Mark Schlabach and Kyle Bonagura are both projecting Miami to reach the postseason this year.

Schlabach projects Miami to play in the Orange Bowl against Ohio State. In this scenario, Miami would be the ACC’s automatic qualifier to a New Year’s Six bowl game because Schlabach is projecting Florida State to make the College Football Playoff.

Miami and Ohio State have not met since 2011. Miami’s last appearance in the Orange Bowl came at the end of the 2017 season.

Bonagura is predicting Miami will play in the Gator Bowl against Florida.

Miami’s last appearance in the Gator Bowl came back in 1999. It hasn’t faced Florida since the programs met in Orlando back in 2019. Miami is 29-27 all-time against the Gators.

Miami will play its final nonconference opponent on Saturday as it travels to Temple.
