No, you’re not seeing double. Miami Florida takes on Miami Ohio to kick off their respective 2023 seasons this Friday at 7 p.m. on the ACC Network.
Now, let’s check in with Miami OH quarterback Brett Gabbert to get his thoughts on the matchup against the physically superior Hurricanes.

Wow.
Yeah, the RedHawks are coming into this game with all the confidence in the world, as they should. UMO is a contender in the always frisky MAC, and they’re being paid handsomely to come lose to the Hurricanes. What else is there to lose?
ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) predicts the winner of every college football game, and it gives the Hurricanes a 89.5% chance of taking care of business against the RedHawks.
Really, the Hurricanes’ overt advantage here comes in the trenches, as it does with every game between a P5 and a G5. Miami should have one of the better defensive lines in the ACC and probably a top 25 unit in the country and the rest of the defense should be stout too under new DC Lance Guidry.
