ESPN's FPI updates Miami's win probability vs. Virginia in Week 9
ESPN’s Football Power Index has updated its projection for Miami’s Week 9 contest against Virginia.
The Hurricanes are coming off of arguably their biggest win of the season — a double overtime victory vs. Clemson over the weekend. It was Miami’s first ACC victory of the season after starting 0-2 in conference play.
Virginia is coming off of a stunning upset victory over North Carolina in Week 8. That was also the Cavaliers’ first ACC win of the 2023 season.
According to FPI, Miami is a big favorite at home this weekend vs. UVA. The model gives the Hurricanes a 91.5% chance to come away with a win.
Miami is 1-2 in ACC play and still alive in the race for an ACC Championship Game berth. However, the Canes will need to win out and receive some help from elsewhere in the conference in order to reach Charlotte.
Virginia’s bowl hopes remain low even after its upset win over North Carolina last week. UVA would need to win four of its final five games in order to reach the postseason.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
