Jordan Miller scored 27 points on a perfect 7-7 shooting from the field and 13/13 from the free throw line, a performance that helped the Hurricanes solidify their first ever trip to the Final Four.

Miller is the first player to post a perfect game since Duke’s Christian Laettner did so against Kentucky in 1992. Laettner hit 10-10 shots from the field and knocked down all 10 of his free throw attempts, also sinking the game winner at the buzzer in unbelievable fashion.

On Tuesday, Laettner took time to FaceTime Miller to congratulate him for his incredible performance, wishing him luck the rest of the way.

Miami earned every bit of its spot in the Final Four. It’s had better guard play than perhaps any team in the country, but faces a red-hot UConn squad for the right to play in the championship game against one of San Diego State and FAU.

The Aztecs and Owls will be vying for the right to be the first mid-major champion since 1991 UNLV.
