Kam Kinchens appears to be in good spirits hours after a scary collision at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday night.

Kinchens had to be carted off the field late in the game after appearing to suffer an upper body injury while making a tackle vs. Texas A&M. According to the broadcast, he was later transported to the nearby Ryder Trauma Center.

It seems Kinchens’ injury may not be as bad as previously feared. Late Saturday night, Miami shared this photo of the star safety throwing up ‘The U’ from his hospital bed:

In his postgame press conference, Cristobal told reporters that things were trending in a positive direction for Kinchens’ recovery.

Kinchens recorded 7 tackles and an interception before exiting the game with the injury.

Miami was able to hold off a late Texas A&M comeback attempt and defeated the Aggies 48-33 on Saturday night. The win puts Miami at 2-0 on the season and gives the Canes plenty of momentum heading into Year 2 of the Cristobal era.
