Key Miami offensive lineman to miss Middle Tennessee game

Miami offensive lineman Zion Nelson will not play in the Hurricanes’ Week 4 contest vs. Middle Tennessee.

Nelson has been working his way back from offseason knee surgery and has not yet resumed his every-down role as Miami’s left tackle. He did play vs. Texas A&M in Week 3, but a lot of his action came at right tackle in place of the injured DJ Scaife.

Nelson is not suited up for Saturday’s game:

Instead, Scaife will take back over at right tackle. His injury vs. the Aggies proved t

o be minor. John Campbell will continue playing left tackle, which is where he has been for most of this season.

Nelson’s absence likely won’t have an impact on this game, as the Canes are big favorites over Middle Tennessee at home. However, Miami will hope to have its star left tackle at 100% when it begins conference play on Oct. 8.
