Miami star receiver Xavier Restrepo missed Saturday night’s game vs. Texas A&M with a serious foot injury.

After the game, coach Mario Cristobal said Restrepo is expected to miss at least the next 6 weeks:

That’s devastating news for a Miami offense that hasn’t found a go-to wide receiver yet this season. The Canes’ leading receiver (excluding tight end Will Mallory) on Saturday vs. Texas A&M was Key’Shawn Smith with 3 catches for 42 yards.

Restrepo entered this game as the only Miami pass-catcher to have at least 7 catches and at least 80 yards on the season.

As a result of Restrepo’s absence, Miami’s passing offense struggled to go vertical vs. the Aggies. It also failed to score a touchdown despite gaining nearly 400 total yards of offense.
