Mario Cristobal updates Miami's injury situation after Middle Tennessee loss
Miami coach Mario Cristobal gave an update on the Canes’ lengthy injury situation in his postgame press conference.
Running back Jaylan Knighton is dealing with an ankle injury, Cristobal said. Knighton fumbled in the first half and finished the game with only 2 carries. He didn’t play in the second half.
Cornerback Tyrique Stevenson also suffered an injury in the first half. Cristobal called it a “lower extremity” issue. Stevenson watched the second half in street clothes.
Punter Lou Hedly did not play in this game due to a pre-game strain, per Cristobal. Hedley was replaced by Will Hutchinson, who averaged 47.3 yards per punt.
Henry Parrish Jr. appeared to take a hit to the head and is “being evaluated,” per Cristobal. He had 14 carries and scored a receiving touchdown in this game.
Defensive back Daryl Porter Jr. is dealing with a shoulder injury, but Cristobal told reporters he doesn’t believe it to be serious. Porter finished the game with 5 tackles, which tied for a team-high.
Per Mario Cristobal:
Jaylan Knighton has an ankle injury.
Tyrique Stevenson has a “lower extremity” injury.
Lou Hedley had a pregame strain.
Henry Parrish Jr. is being evaluated.
Daryl Porter Jr. has a shoulder injury but Cristobal said he didn’t think it was serious.
