Miami addresses OL concerns with major pickup in transfer portal
Miami picked up a commit from transfer offensive lineman Matt Lee on Sunday afternoon.
Lee joins the Canes after beginning his career at Central Florida. He spent the last 4 seasons with the Golden Knights. The center earned second-team All-AAC honors for his play in 2022.

Lee was also being recruited by Oklahoma and other top programs. Ultimately, he chose to stay closer to home. He attended Hagerty High School in Oviedo, Fla.
Lee is a potential starter for the Canes in 2023. He started each of the last 3 seasons at center for the Golden Knights. He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 295 pounds.
Jakai Clark has served as Miami’s center for most of the past 2 seasons, but he also experience at guard. It’s possible he will slide to one of those positions if Lee earns the starting nod at center.
Lee has 2 years of eligibility remaining.
