Miami adds commitment from in-state LB to 2024 recruiting class
Miami is working on compiling the 2024 recruiting class under Mario Cristobal. On Friday, the Hurricanes landed another piece to the puzzle from a local linebacker.
The player is Vincent Shavers, a LB out of Miami Central High School. He generated a host of Power 5 offers before finally committing to Miami from a final group that also included Maryland and Rutgers out of the Big Ten.
Shavers called his commitment “a dream come true” per Hayes Fawcett with On3 Sports:

The 6’1 200 LB from Miami Gardens, FL chose the Hurricanes over Maryland and Rutgers.

Listed at 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, Shavers is rated as a 3-star prospect for the 2024 recruiting class. He’s also the 66th LB in the country and the No. 102 player out of Florida for the cycle per the 247 Sports Composite.
Shavers becomes the 8th prospect committed for the class of 2024, a group that ranks 24th nationally and 7th in the ACC per the team composite. We’ll see how the Hurricanes round out that class over the summer.
