Miami adds transfer commitment from former Pac-12 defensive back
Miami has landed a transfer pledge from former Arizona defensive back Isaiah Taylor — son of Miami defensive line coach Jason Taylor.
The 5-foot-11 safety appeared in 24 games across three seasons with Arizona. He comes to Miami with two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Taylor starred at St. Thomas Aquinas High in Fort Lauderdale before signing with Arizona in the spring of 2021. In his three seasons with the program, Taylor logged 56 tackles, three pass breakups, and one interception. Taylor’s takeaway came in the fourth quarter of Arizona’s win over Arizona State in 2022, sealing the Wildcats’ first Territorial Cup win in six seasons.
He redshirted in 2021 and then filled a rotational role at safety in each of the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
Taylor will look to compete for a starting role in the Miami secondary next season. The Hurricanes have also added safety Savion Riley (Vanderbilt) from the transfer portal and safety Zaquan Patterson from the 2024 class. Jaden Harris, Markeith Williams, and Kaleb Spencer are expected to return.
