Miami recognized several standouts from its 30-7 win over Southern Miss on Saturday afternoon.

On the offensive side of the ball, receiver Xavier Restrepo was named Offensive Player of the Game. He caught 6 passes for 72 yards and has done a lot to stabilize Miami’s receiving corps so far this season.

Miami announced 3 players for co-defensive player of the game honors: defensive lineman Leonard Taylor, cornerback Tyrique Stevenson and safety James Williams.

Taylor recorded a sack and 2 tackles for loss. Stevenson had 1 interception and 1 pass breakup. Williams recorded 4 tackles and 1 pass breakup.

Stevenson also earned a nod for special teams player of the game. He had a 30-yard punt return that helped set up Miami’s second touchdown of the third quarter.

He’s joined by kicker Andy Borregales as co-special teams player of the game. Borregales made all 6 of his attempts vs. Southern Miss — 3 field goals and 3 extra points.

Miami faces Texas A&M on Saturday.
