Miami baseball is heading home after falling to Texas, 10-6 at the Coral Gables Regional.

The Hurricanes jumped to a 3-0 lead early in the top of the 2nd off the bat of Dominic Pitelli. That’s about where Miami’s good fortune ended.

Texas went on to score 10 unanswered runs across the next 4 innings. By the time Yohandy Morales cut the lead to 4 with a 3-run shot in the top of the 7th, it was too little, too late.

The loss in the regional round solidifies a 42-21 record for the Hurricanes.

Texas will advance to the Super Regional round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament. They’ll face off against either Texas A&M or Stanford in the super regional round. Should the Aggies down the Cardinal, it’s likely that the Longhorns will host the supers.
