Miami completes comeback over Texas, advances to 1st Final Four in program history

Miami upset No. 2 Texas 88-81 on Sunday night in Kansas to advance to its 1st Final Four in program history.

The Canes trailed by 10 points with just 8:30 to go. But from there, they controlled the game and were able to stretch their lead in the game’s final minute.

Miami’s 2nd half comeback did not include a 3-point make. The Canes went 0-for-5 from beyond the arc in the second half, but they were excellent from the charity stripe. They made 24-of-25 foul shots in the 2nd half. As a team, the Canes shot 28-of-32 from the foul line.

e finished the game with 27 points on 7-of-7 shooting.

Wooga Poplar, Nijel Pack, Norchad Omier and Isaiah Wong also scored in double figures.

Miami will face UConn in the Final Four next weekend in Houston. The Huskies are looking for their 4th National Championship in the last 20 seasons.

Florida Atlantic and San Diego State are also in the Final Four. FAU and SDSU will also be making their 1st-ever appearances on college basketball’s biggest stage.
