Williams did not record a tackle in Miami’s win over Southern Miss. He also didn’t record any statistics vs. Bethune-Cookman in Week 1.
Williams is a third-year sophomore with the Hurricanes. Last season, he played in 6 games and made 1 start in Miami’s secondary. He finished the year with 18 tackles and 1 interception.
He was a 4-star prospect in the class of 2020. He was the No. 45 overall player and the No. 2 safety in the nation for that cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Overall, Miami’s defense was excellent vs. the Golden Eagles on Saturday. Miami allowed just 1 touchdown drive and kept Southern Miss off the scoreboard entirely in the second half.
Coach Mario Cristobal did not address Williams’ status in his postgame press conference.
