Miami picked up a major commitment on Saturday afternoon.

4-star defensive end Cyrus Moss chose the Hurricanes during the fourth quarter of the Adidas All-American Bowl.

The Las Vegas, Nevada, native indicated that his relationship with new coach Mario Cristobal is a major reason for his commitment. Cristobal previously recruited Moss at Oregon.

Moss is the No. 63 overall player in the country for the class of 2022, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 2 player from the state of Nevada in this class.

Moss is Miami’s third commitment in the top 100 of 247 Sports Composite player rankings. Defensive lineman Nyjalik Kelly and tight end Jaleel Skinner both signed with the Hurricanes during the Early Signing Period in December.

Miami’s recruiting class has been improving since Cristobal took over. The Hurricanes are currently ranked No. 7 in the ACC despite having just 10 commitments in this class. Miami is expected to continue to recruit other prospects in this class until National Signing Day in February.
