Miami earns commitment from high-profile DL transfer
Miami will bring in defensive lineman Thomas Gore as a transfer in the 2023 season.
Gore spent the previous 4 seasons at Georgia State before he entered the transfer portal earlier in the month. Several top programs were looking to add Gore as a transfer, but the Canes won out.
Here is Gore’s announcement of his commitment to Miami:

He will be a key addition to the Hurricanes’ defense in the transfer portal. Miami’s defense struggled at times throughout the 2022 season and a veteran transfer like Gore could help the defense.
In 4 seasons at Georgia State, he recorded 94 total tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. He made a leap as a pass rusher on Georgia State’s defensive line in the 2022 season. He ended this season with 5 sacks and 38 combined tackles. He led Georgia State in sacks and finished outside the top 10 in tackles for the team.
Gore will be a welcomed addition to Miami’s defense that had the No. 10 ranked defense in the ACC in 2022. The Miami defense gave up an average of 26.8 points per game to opposing offenses.
Gore will have 2 years of eligibility remaining in college football.
