Miami’s 17-9 loss to Texas A&M on Saturday night has the Canes on the outside of ESPN’s updated top 25 power rankings.

It’s a big drop for Miami, who was ranked No. 10 by ESPN heading into its one-score loss to the Aggies in College Station.

Miami had chances to win the game, but made numerous mistakes throughout the game. The Canes had several drops, failed to score a touchdown in the red zone and muffed a punt in the loss.

Still, Miami is now 2-1 on the season with its only loss being on the road to a ranked Texas A&M team that is elite defensively.

Other 2-1 teams in ESPN’s top 25 include Pitt, Michigan State, BYU and Baylor.

Miami has one more nonconference game remaining this season before turning its attention to ACC play. The Canes are one of the favorites to win the Coastal this year.

Miami hosts Middle Tennessee in Week 4.
