Miami guard Charlie Moore wrote a thoughtful note to Miami’s basketball program and fans on Wednesday afternoon.

Moore was only in Miami for one season, but it was a memorable campaign. He helped lead the Hurricanes to their first-ever trip to the Final Four.

Here’s what Moore had to say as he prepares to start his professional career.

“I’m blessed to now be in a position to pursue my goal of playing in the NBA, but I will forever be a Miami Hurricane,” Moore wrote in-part. “I will represent The U to the fullest while I continue on this journey of making my dreams come true.”

Coach Jim Larranaga often referred to Moore as Miami’s version of Chris Paul — a dependable, yet dynamic point guard who always had control of the game.

His performance vs. Auburn in the Round of 32 was a huge reason for Miami’s program-altering trip to the Elite Eight. He put up 15 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists in that victory.

His leadership and consistency will likely prove to be difficult to replace next season.
