Miami’s Key’Shawn Smith made CBS Sports’ midseason All-America team as a kick returner.

Smith has been impressive for Miami this season, stepping up for the Canes on offense as well in the absence of receivers Xavier Restrepo and Jacolby George.

A third-year sophomore from San Diego, Smith has 12 receptions for 192 yards this season, and 2 TDs. The WR is averaging 16 yards per reception, with a season high 42 yards against Texas A&M.

However, Smith has really shined is kick returns. In the Week 1 contest against Bethune-Cookman, Smith had 184 yards on three kickoff returns, including a pair of 70-plus-yard returns. He totaled 217 yards on kick returns against MTSU in Week 2, including a 91-yard return for a TD. Against a talented North Carolina defense, Smith collected 115 yards on five kick returns.

For the season, Smith has 516 yards and 1 touchdown on 15 kickoff returns. No other ACC player has more than 240 kick return yards so far this season.

Smith and the Hurricanes face off against Duke on Saturday.
